ABOUT
I'm a Virginia-based actor in theater, commercial, and film with experience in contemporary and classical styles and regional credits in performance, assistant-directing, and producing.
Born in Richmond, with artistic stints in D.C., Seattle, NYC, and beyond, I'm currently back in my hometown, repped by Modelogic, to rear my young family and collaborate with the rich performing arts scene in the DMV.
Things I love: Challenging myself with each new role; the Apollonian and Dionysian; Shakespeare (full stop); English novels and ancient Greek literature; philosophy and the history of ideas; food cultures around the world; formal rhetoric and debate; queer storytelling; bathos and clown; and new play development—particularly inspired, modern riffs on classic stories and themes.
I hold an M.F.A. from The Shakespeare Theatre Company / The G.W. University and am a graduate of The Studio Acting Conservatory (with a B.A. Honors from The University of Virginia). I've taught undergraduate acting at The University of Richmond, have been named a company member with Rorschach Theatre, and currently serve on the Board of 5th Wall Theatre. I'm also a writer with a background in magazine journalism, criticism, and personal essays. I've published award-winning non-fiction—with bylines in national, regional, and local publications—and I hope to grow my small body of playwriting and solo show work.
As a kid and teen, I trained for ten years in classical ballet, performing professionally with The Richmond Ballet in Richmond, VA. I was a dancer at birth—like Marc Bolan of T. Rex, I "danced myself right out the womb."
